when i was born, for those who pay attention to these sorts of things, the sun was in leo, the moon was in aries, and cancer was rising. all the planets but the moon were below the horizon, moslty clustered in libra where there was a triple conjunction between jupiter saturn and venus. it was a thursday, at two seventeen in the morning. my mother was either 19 or twenty and I think my father was 21.

do not listen to Gorecki's third symphony on nights where nothing goes right.

do not hurt, do not drink too much caffeine, do not break things.

i'm going to watch one of my favorite movies alone and maybe go look at the stars. i was out there before, I kept thinking "The night was pocked with stars". They looked like points on a tumultuous landscape hovering upside down above ours, no more than a few miles up. i saw no shooting stars.
