"HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - New Line Cinema has paid a mid-six-figure advance for comedy pitch "The Wingman," from scribes Jonathan Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.
Paul Schiff ("Mona Lisa Smile") will produce the picture, in which a man who's particularly gifted at helping his friends pick up women falls in love.
Last year, Senator Films bought the team's stoner comedy spec "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle." With Danny Leiner ("Dude, Where's My Car?") onboard to direct, the German firm hopes to begin production this spring."
Hurwitz and Schlossberg. I went to highschool with those guys. They were three or four years ahead of me.
How does this make me feel? I feel damn behind, first of all. Need to write those screenplays already. need to be making something. Secondly, it makes me kind of sad that there's such a market for stoner comedies.
c'mon dave, you know you can do better than what youre doing now!
